平日の朝は6時15分頃に家を出るのだが、その時間帯にきれいな日の出を見ることができる。
昼間はまだ少し暑い日があるが、朝・夜は寒い日が増えてきた。
朝に霧が出たり、夜には露が降りている日も増えてきた。

いつもの週末なら目覚まし時計をセットしなくても5時過ぎには目が覚めるのだが、前日の27日は一日忙しく、その疲れが出たのか、目が覚めたのが7時20分。

すでにTGCネットは終わっている。今回は寝坊してしまって声を出すことができなかった。残念!

CQ WW コンテスト SSBは、当初7MHzシングルバンドで出るつもりだったので28日(土)の午前中は全く無線機の前には座らなかった。
午後からシャックに入り、7MHzのロングパスでヨーロッパ、アフリカ方面を、そしてそのあと夕方以降に北米・南米をねらおうと思っていたが、バンドコンディションは良くなった。

そこで急遽方針を変えて、7, 14, 21, 28のマルチバンドで出ることにした。

今回は、局数よりもゾーンの数をねらうことを目標にした。
40あるゾーンの内、はたしていくつのゾーンと交信できるのか。

今回カリブ海方面からの運用が多かったが、インド洋・アフリカ方面が少なかった。
6つのゾーンとQSOができなかった。

今回のCQ WW SSBは7MHzシングルバンドで参加しようと思うので、28日(土)は昼間に用事があるので全くシャックには入らず、午後からワッチする予定。
リストを見るとカリブ海方面のゾーン8,9からのペディション運用がとても多い。
一方、アフリカ方面のペディションからの参加が少ないように感じた。
午後以降に、アフリカ、ヨーロッパ方面のロングパス、日没後に北米・カリブ海方面のショートパスでコンテストに参加の予定。どれくらい交信できるかな?
私のコンテストの参加部門は7MHzの予定だが、明日の朝はハイバンドでもカリブ海方面を呼んでみたい。

425 DX Newsから抜粋

3A     - All ARM members  are allowed  to use the  special callsign  3A70ARM
         during October to celebrate the  70th anniversary  of the formation
         of the Association des Radioamateurs de Monaco. [TNX The Daily DX]
HR     - Yuri, VE3DZ  will be active as  HQ9A  from  Roatan Island (NA-057),
         Honduras on  19-31 October,  including an entry in the CQ WW DX SSB
         Contest. Outside the contest he will operate CW, SSB and FT8 on the
         HF bands.  QSL via home call;  plans are to upload the log to  LoTW
         and Club Log. [TNX DX World]
9M6    - Saty, JE1JKL will be active again as 9M6NA  from Labuan Island (OC-
         133), East Malaysia for the CQ WW DX SSB Contest (SOAB 15m) and the
         CQ WW DX CW Contest (SOAB).  QSL via LoTW and Club Log's OQRS. [TNX

A2     - The  Russian DXpedition Team  will be active again  as  A25RU  from
         Botswana from  26 October to 12 November.  Seven operators  (namely
         R5EC, R7AL, RA1ZZ, RW9JZ, UA3QLC, OK8AU and SP6EQZ)  will be QRV on
         160-6 metres  CW and SSB  with  three stations,  and digital  modes
         (mainly FT8)  with six or seven stations.  QSL via Club Log's OQRS.

A5     - Abie, AB1F will be active as  A52AA  from Thimphu, Bhutan on  19-27
         October. He will operate SSB on  40, 20, 15 and 10 metres.  QSL via
         home call (direct or bureau); he will upload his log to LoTW, eQSL,
         Club Log.
H4     - H40WA has been postponed to 2024 (see Good to Know below), but team
         member Jun OE1JUN/JH4RHF is going on a solo expedition. Running 100
         watts into wires, he will be active as H44RH from Honiara (OC-047),
         Solomon Islands  starting on  23 October until probably 31 October.
         He also plans  to be active as  H40RH  from Pigeon Island (OC-065),
         Temotu  Province,  tentatively on  1-9 November:  "there  might  be
         several options to go to Temotu", he says. "Most probably I need to
         arrange it  next week  in Honiara  to see  the best option  at that

         operate mainly CW,  possibly with SSB activity  during the CQ WW DX
         Contest and FT8 on 6 metres if the band is open. QSLs via OE1JUN.
OY     - Christian EA3NT,  Col MM0NDX  and  Jonathan MM0OKG will join  local
         operators and participate in the CQ WW DX SSB Contest as  OY6A (QSL
         via LoTW)  from the  Faroe Islands (EU-018).  Before and after  the
         contest they will be QRV as OY/EA3NT, OY/MM0NDX and OY/MM0OKG.
PJ5    - John, W5JON will be active again as  PJ5/W5JON from  Sint Eustatius
         (NA-145) on 25-31 October.  He will operate SSB and FT8  on  60-6m.

PJ7    - After the CQ WW DX SSB Contest, Ed, N2HX  will move from  St. Kitts
         to  Sint Maarten (NA-105).  He will be QRV as  PJ7PL, including en-
         tries in the CQ WW DX CW Contest (25-26 November)  and the ARRL 10-
         Meter Contest (9-10 December). QSL via home call, direct or bureau.

V4     - Ed, N2HX will be active as V4/N2HX from St. Kitts (NA-104)  from 21
         October to  18 November,  including an entry  in  the  CQ WW DX SSB
         Contest as V49R. QSLs via home call, direct or bureau. [TNX N2HX]
VE     - Pierre, VK3KTB  and  Alexey VE1RUS will be active  again as  VY0ERC
         from the Eureka Amateur Radio Club station on Ellesmere Island (NA-
         008) between 21 October and 22 November. QSL via M0OXO's OQRS.
ZF     - Rich, NN3W will be active as ZF2RD from Cayman Brac, Cayman Islands
         (NA-016)  on  24-31 October.  He will operate CW and SSB  on the HF
         bands, and will participate in the  CQ WW DX SSB Contest  as  ZF2B.
         QSLs via LoTW, or via NN3W.
CE0Y   - Luis, CE2ML and Mathias, CE2LR will be active as  XR0Y  from Easter
         Island (SA-001) on  22-29 October,  including an entry in the CQ WW
         DX SSB Contest as 3G0Y.  They will operate CW, SSB and some FT8  on
         the HF bands. QSL both callsigns via CE2ML. [TNX DX World]
CT9    - Helmut, DF7EE will be active again as CT9/DF7EE from  Madeira  (AF-
         014)  on  22-31 October,  including  an entry  in the  CQ WW DX SSB
         Contest as CQ3W.  Before and after the contest he will focus on 60,
         30, 17 and 12 metres SSB and FT8.  QSL both callsigns via  LoTW and
         Club Log's OQRS.
FG     - Once again Philippe, F1DUZ will be active as FG4KH from  Guadeloupe
         (NA-102) from 17 October to 7 November,  including participation in
         the CQ WW DX SSB Contest. QSL via LoTW, eQSL, or via F1DUZ.
LX     - Once again HB9S (the Geneva based World Scout Bureau Global Support
         Centre) has been invited to take part in the JOTA-JOTI weekend (20-
         22 October) in Luxembourg.  Look for LX9S to be active with several
         stations  on the HF bands  SSB,  CW, FT8  and SSTV,  and  also  via
         QO-100. QSL via LoTW (preferred), or via HB9AOF.
V6     - Miki, JJ2CJB will be active as V63CB from Pohnpei (OC-010),  Micro-
         nesia on  27-31 October.  He will operate mainly SSB,  with some CW
         and FT8, on 40-10 metres,  and will participate in the CQ WW DX SSB
         Contest. QSL via LoTW, or direct to JJ2CJB.
VK9L   - Al, K7AR and Bob, W7YAQ  were due to QRT  from Lord Howe on 3 Octo-
         ber. Their return flight,  however, was cancelled,  and the DXpedi-
         tion has been extended.  Look for VK9LAA to be active with one sta-
         tion on 40-10 metres until 8 October. QSL via Club Log's OQRS, LoTW
         or via W7YAQ.
YJ     - Team YJ0TT (NC7M and other five operators) will be active from Efa-
         te  (OC-035),  Vanuatu  from  26 October to 3 November.  They  will
         operate  CW, SSB and  digital modes  on  160-10 metres.  Individual
         callsigns include YJ0SR (N7JI), YJ0ET (NG7E),  YJ0NA (K6VHF, who is
         planning to operate via satellites), YJ0UC (W6UC)  &  YJ0EE (NJ6P),
         who plan to be QRV on 6 metres EME  ("for the very first three days
         to take advantage  of low degradation")  and  terrestrial.  QSL via
